Smith & Hawken was about to enter into talks with a big-box home improvement chain, and was interested in creating a “shop-in-shop” concept that would reinforce its brand while offering maximum capacity and merchandising flexibility. Working with the Creative Director, I
- designed a steel greenhouse-like structure that would house shelving and/or modular carts. The moveable carts would allow for easier reconfiguration of merchandise (much of which is heavy or bulky).
- developed price and informational signs that bore the Smith & Hawken logo and were reminiscent of seed packets, as well as large logo signs to be ceiling-hung, mounted to the fixtures or adhered to the floor
- created shelf-top display units, customized for presentation of seed packets, books, gardening utensils, etc.
